I WANT TO GET MY MUSIC READY FOR MASTERING, I WAS TOLD TO MIX DOWN MY FILES BEFORE DELIVERY. IM DOIN EVERYTHING MYSELF I DONT REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT ALL THAT MEANS. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN IT TO ME IF THEY HAVE TIME. IM USING PRO TOOLS. AND USING A MAC.

If you're asking a question like that, you're better off getting a book on mixing and going from there. Mixing is an art and you can't go from zero to good in a one post explanation. You might want to consider taking your project to somebody who knows what they're doing and having it done. If you do that, definately pay attention and involve yourself in the process so you can soak as much out of it as possible.
