How do people get such crisp sharpe backgrounds??

I'm looking at PhotoDoctors site( http://photodoctorgraphics.com/portfolio.php ) and gettin damn jealous at how good there work is haha. How do they get it so good? You think it has to do with like a sharpening tut?

its the photography 1st of all.....that has a lot to do wit the talent and eye of the photographer.....then yeah theres sharpening and filtering done to it.....but it all starts wit the photography......

U can achieve that look w/o an $8000 camera, like colombo says...they use good lighting techniques and the post processing is also crucial
