how do i setup a wirless network....

Yeah, you need to buy a wireless router. They're not that expensive. Check out www.newegg.com. I bought mine for $40
I just moved into a new house and where I have my office set up I don't have any outlets to set-up my internet so I had to set it up downstairs in the bedroom but my desk and everything is upstairs. I have a router but is there something I can do to have my internet in my office but the cable modem downstairs? (and no a long plug is not the answer)
you get one of the routers above. Plug your ethernet cable into it and the other end of it into the wall downstairs.
then you buy one of these if you have an available slot:

You put either of these in your computer upstairs and install the softer for your router and this as well and you are good to go. The llittle antenna on the PCI card is removeable. You can get a stronger one to put on it for thicker wall penetration or distance.
