how do i record mpg,mpeg, ect to a dvd playable dvd?

use tmpgenc encoder to put it into mpeg form, its pretty simple. u can download it here http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main2.html then use a burning program to make a vcd.
cdrs will only work if your DVD player plays VCD's, you can convert your files in several different softwares out there, I like Ulead DVD movie factory, there you can make any file you like, and yes that Tmpeg enc is GREAT for converting WMV's & Avi, anything into an mpeg 4 ya..check out www.vcdhelp.com too get started, there are alot of ways too go abut shit you know! there you can see from the pros..
