Haha Mike Jones and Paul Wall are so beyond washed up. Z-Ro go hard, but it take more than just him bruh. Slim Thugga and his boys is cool, but they aint got enough heat either. Houston/Texas is just another region that's suffereing from the "Hip Hop Recession."

^^^ You are right about nobody wanting to buy CD's anymore, but it's because nobody want to waste $13 on trash. Houston had major momentum a few years ago. They have just gradually faded away. I'm not saying their music is any worse than anybody else's, it's just nobody wants to hear about "84's" and "Slabs" and all that other bullshit that got played out in Houston. Cats like Mike Jones and Paul Wall really played out what the Houston music scene had to offer.

meh, Houston got played quick because niggas started seeing what was working and they started to make there music like that.

Trae did it (don't get me wrong he still is a legend in the south) mike Jones went hard but then he never talked about anything else after the 1st year he was getting to be known. Paul Wall went hard for a second (never liked the solo music but I know others were feeling it) Lil Flip started to flood the market (he shines when he is bashing others really)
Cham is still trying to keep going but he is losing steam.

Where is Houston at? I know alot of the Original SUC is dead but what about Keke and pokey and esg? Where is the SPC? Where is the underground spitting? DOpe shows with hos and bangin free style flows?

Resurrect The Music.

Houston as a whole is not dead

On the mainstream tip? Yea.....And they were running it back in 05', but once these new niggas from the ATL started popping up (I.E. D4L), the attention shifted from Houston to the ATL.....

hip hop is messed up right now. But honestly, If I'm a fan, I'll bump katz muzik.
I dont think its gonna get any better. I mean, people want free muzik. I personally go out and buy katz albums I enjoy. I dont get a shit load of cds at once, but I do get a couple here and a couple there. I know a few artists, just like many on here, and I want to see them keep making muzik and succeed.

Spc have been active. Murder One got album out, K-Rino many albums, The Terrorists album, Ganksta Nip album.
alright look at who you just named and look at the official SPC roster. They have the talent and the people to be tearing this shit up right now.

Also fuck the mainstream shit. I could care less if niggas and spics in Cali were bumping this shit. I want quality shit. I don't want the same recycled candy ass beats with the same played out rhymes and marketing gimmicks. I want originality from my people here in Tx.

Case and point if I like it I'll bump it.

I don't see how this will change though because ATL has become the hub of the industry

Chamillionaire Says "Houston Is Dead," Vows To Save It

http://current.com/items/89364135_chamillionaire_says_houston_is_dead_vows_to_save_it

After dropping his Mixtape Messiah 4 tape just over a month ago, Chamillionaire recently spoke in his hometown of Houston XXL magazine on video.
Chronicling the competitive tension in Houston that helped get Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Lil Flip, Mike Jones and Chamillionaire signed to major labels several years ago may have been a more progressive climate. Reminded of when Chamillionaire would try to outdo his Swishahouse rivals, or had a less-than-amicable relationship with Slim Thug, he said, "I feel like [the unity right now] has got us a little bit lazy. Everywhere I go, they like, 'What happened to Houston?' And that's a problem for me."
"It makes me look weak if everywhere I'm going, they think that just everybody from Texas fell off. It's easy to put out an album and put out a hit, but after that, what do you do?" Moments later, Chamillionaire forecast the controversy that would follow the statement as he declared, "Maybe they're right. Maybe Texas is dead."
Referring to his anticipated third Universal album and abundant unreleased mixtape material, Chamillionaire said, "I want to help everybody else and motivate them to be like, 'Look man, we need to get up off of our you-know-whats and go out there and get it."
