Dope! You got any footage from the previous 3??
Nah couldn't find any footy of the Battle, there is a video of Blame One, Johaz and Exile rocking at the one they threw @ Kava Lounge on you tube though...the three previous winners where...

Mr. Ridley

JoJo of the Messangers

& Money Mike

These Beat Battle's usually get alot of people out and supporting, cause Production is a huge part of the scene...alot of networking needless to say, I would say if someone is serious about there music, or they got something to promo, this is a key spot to be on the 30th..

So is this done live? What are the rules? How is it judged?
I am not sure if it is head to head, or 3 producers @ a time....only rule is that it is your production, people can't represent with squad beats..it's basically judge in the freshness factor...what gets the crowd and the judges going...originality, overall quality of the production, change ups are good so the beat doesn't go stale after 30 seconds...basic stuff...last time they had 3 CDJ's set up and each producer played there beat for 60 seconds, and the judges were Jake One, Oh No, and Mr. Brady...then it eventually got down to 1 on 1 at the end with each producer going head to head for a few beats.

I personally would like to see Lab vs lab like the root down battles in LA, all live MPC, turntable, ish..
