have any of you peeped this movie out? I rented the dvd over the weekend. I often asked myself "why am i watching this demented movie?"

It doesnt have hundreds of killing scenes but if you peep the overtones and what not this movie is demented.

Sounds like the shit I like to watch.
I'm gettin "Cannibal Ferox" this weekend.
It's supposed to be the movie that inspired Rob Zombie to make his own movies.

I heard "house of 1000 corpses" was not that good but I'll take your word for it.
I just hope Rob brings out a zombie movie in the near future.
I love zombie flicks....

oh im seeing that shit this weekend, im very excited. If you enjoy some movies that on the surface just look overstuffed with gore and violence and mayhem, but in actuality are mindfucks and scream, "society is a shithole, the human race is doomed" I recommend the following if you havent seem them:


Doom Generation Movies
StrangeLand
Freeway Movies
and my personal favorite- Natural Born Killers.

No gore?
That sucks. But I'll take your word for it.

I just finished watching Cannibal Ferox.
The assholes behind this movie are demented.
They have this fuckin badger or what ever it fuckin was gettin crushed by an anaconda.
Then these villagers butcher a turtle.
What's sickenning is the fact that they are really killing these animals. Oh well, I won't reveal the whole shit.
But people who like gore, will like this flick....

I wanted to see House of 1000 courpses, but never got around to it and heard it sucked so i passed on it. Now i'll probably rent it. Plus it's got Sid Haig in it!

Sounds like the same cats who do not like the Matrix movies.

Somehow the matrix films get people to believe there's some deep intellectual thought behind it by throwing out the most generic pseudo-philosophical cliches imaginable.




P.S. I like the matrix movies, but not cuz they are some how "deep" .

Well the philosophy in the films is ok at best.
I like it for it metaphors, and I think that's what people have a hard time understanding.

There wasn't a lot of killing/gore in it cause Rob had to edit it out to get the R rating. All of the footage that was cut out, including the original ending, will be on the Special Edition that's coming out in October.

awww man i JUST watched House and i tell you what im not easily disturbed and i was so twisted after that shit..me n my homegirl just kinda stared at the screen then each other for a few minutes. That shit was hella sadistic . I enjoyed it. Rob Zombie is very very clever

I saw the movie this past weekend.
Hmmmmmm.....

Reminds me a lot about "Signs".
Not that the 2 movies were similar, but that just like "Signs" borrowed heavily from one of my all time favorite movies, "Night of the Living Dead".
Rob Zombie's movie borrowed heavily from The Texas Chainsaw massacre movies. Even to the point where he used one of the acters of the "Leather Face" movies in his own. "Ottis"....
I think "House of 1000 Corpses" failed at capturing the atmosphere that made the Leather Face movies so scary.
Even the Blair Witch Project borrowed from this suffocating feeling of despair introduced in the original T.C.M. movie.
Rob shot himself on the foot when he went over-board in trying to give his characters that psychotic theme.
The biggest draw back were the sketches and outsourced scenes thrown in through out the entire movie. It killed that atmospheric feeling of despare that even the Blair Witch made mills from.
But my biggest problem with this movie was the over-done psychotic characters. That country girl was more stupid than convincing. And even Ottis tried to damn hard to come off as the psycho he once was in T.C.M. 2....
Watch the T.C.M. - The new Generation to see what Rob Zombie was tryin to accomplish with his attempt at creating a demented family....

Even with all the negativity in my post, I still liked this movie.
Captain Spaulding is the shit!
Fuck Dr. Satan and Ottis! Spaulding is what House of 1000 Corpses needs to be about.
Rob should've picked up on this the first time this dude put on the clown make up.
This Spaulding guy has attitude to go with his psychopathic charisma....
Captain Spaulding should've been the leading character in this movie, but oh well....
We'll see what happens in the sequal....

PS.... I should say that maybe this movie's some what failure is due to Hollywood's "Keep it rated R" policy.
It looks like Rob held back on quite a lot, the movie felt like it was missin a lot of shit.
Maybe the director's cut will do Rob's vision the justice it might deserve....
We'll have to wait and see....
