I think the band I've listened to most over the past 3 months is HORSE The Band. Just wondering what everyone else thinks of them. If you've never heard, check out www.myspace.com/horsetheband or www.horsetheband.com
They are fucking insane. Probably have the funniest website of all time too.
Describing them is only possible by using the label that has literally been made up specifically for them, nintendoXcore. They're basically a post hardcore/spaz metal band with midi's playing. Lord Gold (Erik) is probably tied with Radley from Chiodos as the best keyboard player making current music. Which is funny because Gold's leading a fight against Chiodos after he was pawned by Radley lolz.
Here's two videos they've put out, which are my two favorite videos of all time.

Lord Gold's Throneroom: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bgNhoOuhJFc
A Million Exploding Suns: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ijpBMB7euRI

Thoughts/Criticisms/Praises plz

I personally like Horse the Band. I heard they put on awesome shows too. I own The Mechanical Hand and it's a dope album. With that being said they aren't a band I can listen to all the time. I can only take them in doses lol.

If you like Horse the Band you should check out Sky Eats Airplane. They are really dope IMO. Not exactly the same stuff but pretty similar in some ways to Horse.

^^ haha this is kinda cool. If only they both didn't sound like the Underoath guys.
And I seriously think that Napoleon Dynamite was based off of Lord Gold

I'm prob. going to get some crap for this but I like Underoath. I picked up both They're Only Chasing Safety and Define the Great Line used at my local music store when they were having a sale (I think I paid like $7.00 total for both of them) and I was really digging both the albums a lot.

I like Sky Eats Airplane a lot. I just got their album "Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day" in the mail a few days back and I have been soaking it a lot. It's a really good album IMO. Too bad the lead singer/screamer left to do some ambient type of stuff (which is some pretty decent stuff too I must add.) It used to just be the lead singer and the guitarist and that's it (kind of like Idiot Pilot) but I guess the guitarist is going to continue on as Sky Eats Airplane but now as a full band.

Wow.Explain "trendy".Its not like they are makin millions and making appearences on MTV.No to mention, doing "Nintendo" type sounds in rock songs is pretty innovative in my eye, seeing as only a handful of band shave used it.

So why the hate for em?

They can use their cute keyboards all they want it still won't make them sound "8-bit" they ruin decent theme songs. Trendy as in that metalcore "let's mosh hxc" shit, I blame the fans aswell. And that whole vgm thing has been done by prog rock/metal bands who actually pay homage to games they played growing up rather than making it into a big joke. I'd even choose DJ Scotch Egg over them or any of their clone bands on youtube.

LMFAO! You fucking elitist.

Just kidding.

Seriously who gives a fuck what Syk0tic thinks (no offense Sy.) If you like them, you like them. Does it really matter what someone elses opinion is?

I never understood why people get hurt (not saying anyone here is) when someone talks shit about a band/group/artist they like. I could personally give a fuck less.

I have checked out some bands Syk0tic has posted and some of them I thought sucked ass. I don't think he would really care if I told him they sucked, although when I said Dragonforce did he did seem a little hurt lol. Anyways I guess I'm just the type that 99% of the time if I don't like something I don't waste my time posting about it.

When someone says "fuck him/her/them", whether its a band i like or not, its nice to have an explantion as to WHY one would say saomething so personal to some people/person you have no interaction with on a personal level. Ya feel me?

I feel you 100%. And he gave his reason after you asked. In his mind it's a justified reason and that's cool because it's his opinion. I don't care personally how "trendy" or not a band is, some do.

Did you check out Sky Eats Airplane Jae? If you liked HORSE you might dig them too. I'm still going to shoot you a list of some ambient/relaxing suggestions when I have the time too.

Your on point as always, brotha.

I went to albumbase to see if anyone had uploaded the album you mentioned, but to no such luck. I think i read that they only sell their material online. Ill probably have to just go to their website and listen to them their.

Haha... I know you meant "You are the man, man!" But that reminded me if you want some really different type of rock music to listen to check out Man Man from Philly.

http://www.myspace.com/wearemanman

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_Man

I call them "drunken pirate lounge music" lol...they are great IMO.
Actually, its an inside joke. I dont know which rap album its off of, but its a skit of these rappers hangin out with their local corner mart owner whom is of some foreign disent that doesnt speak proper English. Anyways, the rappers ask him a bunch of ludacris questions in which he answers "Hey, man. You are man, man! I luv wooman.I have 1000 Heinekens, man!"

I wish I knew what album it was, shit is hilarious.

I will check those links out after I watch this Hawk game. Thanks man.

Horse is cool, saw them a couple months back. could do without the useless babble between songs but other than that they were good.
