Found this on another message board...I bolded some of the things I thought were interesting.

Yea I see you guys have a new board. Use to be on the other one before they upgraded. I've been reading off and on, but I havn't seen much football this year. the ones I did see were the steelers thursday night and the buckeyes national championship game. But anyways, I'm down here in mobile, alabama. it doesn't get any better than this for me . I work across the bay in daphne, alabama at hooters as a manager. as you could imagine there were plenty of nfl guys in the place yesterady. the south practiced 10 minutes away in fairhope.

the first crew I seen were coach Lineahan of the St.LOuis Rams and part of his coaching staff. Linehan was an idiot and didn't say much. Rick Venturi was the most outgoing of the bunch.I asked about troy smith, but they said they didn't see him yet. venturi said Chris leak looked the best.

Then there was John Defelippio of the new york giants. he told me he was qb's and wide recievers coach.I thought that was bs, since most staffs have one coach each for those respective positions.I looked him up today and he has the title "offensive quality control." he was with an executive from the st.louis rams. I guess they both played ball at James Madison. let me tell you, these guys were off the chain. They sat there for about 5 hours, and were drunk as a skunk, especially defelippio. he even asked for a few girls' numbers. he said he wanted to go to the beach with the girls today after the morning practice. I told him since he was trying to pick up my girls, that I wanted an autographed Eli Manning football. he took my address and everything, but I'm not counting on him coming through. I asked him about coach coughlin, and he said it's hell to work with him. he's constantly working according to defelippio.he claimed all the players liked him, it was the injuries that ruined their year. he said next year it's deep in the playoffs or bust.

coach newhuesiel from the ravens was in as well.I didn't talk to him since he coaches for the ravens. he seemed like a boring guy anyhow. there were also some scouts from the cowboys in. I again asked about troy smith and one of the scouts said 3rd round. I asked about Joe Thomas and they said he's going to be really good. they all raved about calvin Johnson. one of the scouts said he's randy moss without the attitude.

I asked former bucs defensive backs coach greg burns if he thought the bucs would take Tomas, and he said no since they took 2 linemen last year. he was in a depressing mood since he got fired this past season.

who else? o yea edmonton eskimos general manager Paul Jones stopped by really late. he likes to eat and had the nerve to ask me if he could get 50% of his meal. that fat slob. he was a good guy and talked how he gave new general manager of the giants reese his 1st job.

there was a concensus with all of the guys yesterday. they couldn't believe that clown al davis hired a 31 yr old with not much coaching experience in the nfl. most thought davis could bully kiffin around since he's so young.Jones said he's really good friends with saints' head coach Sean Peyton. he said peyton knew after 15 minutes interviewing with davis that he didn't want the job. davis wanted to tell peyton what to do.

that was just the 1st day. getting ready to go to work today. I tell you that was the most fun I had at work in a long time.

More from the hooters guy...for those that care.

there were 3 bronco scouts in today. I talked to the about the draft in general. they said it's basically a crapshoot, and you hope your guy works out. I asked if they thought thomas would be another gallery. they said "you never know."

they even went on to sort of defend the texans taking mario over vince and reggie. they said you don't build a team on position players. he even said mario will be a stud in time.

I brought up all the wheeling and dealing with the browns and broncos. one of them said "another team's trash is another team's traesure." I said one of the browns coaches said we might draft peterson, and he laughed and said "they don't sometimes know whom they're taking the night before the draft, let alone in january." and I brought up butch taking gerrad warren when the scouts wanted seymour.

they also said rueben made up for all the d-linemen we gave up to denver.
