2 N.Y. men diagnosed with rare STD
Two men in New York City have been diagnosed with Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) which is a rare but spreading sexually transmitted disease (STD) which has (at least) affected gay and bisexual men in Europe. LGV is composed of chlamydia strains.
The strains cause genital ulcers and a bloody rectal infection. If the disease isn't treated early on by 3 weeks' worth antibiotics, it can lead to permanent bowel damage. Genital scarring and swelling also takes place. Most sufferers have HIV/AIDs.
NYC Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden says: "LGV is a serious condition and its emergence in New York City reflects continuing high levels of unsafe sexual activity among men who have sex with men." He blames unprotected anal intercourse. Good luck doing any good, with that sort of basis, NYC Health Commissioner.
I remember all them NY cats used to clown frisco cuz theres hella gays there!! haha!!
