I'm wantin to purchase a small setup that can record high quality tracks.

The BEHRINGER UB1832FX PRO was suggested
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41474&item=3761490959&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Anyone know anything about this mixxer?

What about a mic?

I'm down to put up a decent amount of loot but I would like to get the most of my money.

I know nothing about this shit I'm just tryin to help someone with the costs of gettin an album released. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

BEHRINGER AND "HIGH QUALITY" SHOULD NOT BE USED IN THE SAME SENTENCE OR CONVO. I'VE NEVER TRIED A BEHRINGER PRODUCT I LIKED (WELL THE TRUTH MONITORS ARE OK BUT I WOULDNT BUY THEM). I DON'T THINK ANYONE ON THIS BOARD WILL RECOMMEND A BEHRINGER PRODUCT. IMHO I DON'T THINK ANYONE HERE EVEN OWNS BEHRINGER PRODUCTS.

YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A SMALL SETUP THAT CAN RECORD QUALITY TRACKS.

1. ARE YOU LOOKING TO USE ADATS, STAND ALONE D.A.W'S (ROLAND 2480 FOR EXAMPLE) COMPUTER BASED D.A.W.S (DIGI 002 WITH PRO TOOLS LE)

2. DO YOU REQUIRE AN EXTERNAL MIXER? DO YOU PLAN TO MIX IN OR OUT OF THE BOX?

3.HOW MANY INPUTS/OUTPUTS ARE NEEDED?

4.ARE YOU USING MIDI GEAR? IF SO WILL YOU NEED AN INTERFACE?

5.WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET? WHILE A "DECENT AMOUNT OF MONEY" MAY BE 2 GRAND FOR YOU SOME OF US ARE SPENDING 2 AND MORE ON WORKSTATIONS ALONE. IF YOU COULD TELL US WHAT YOUR WORKING WITH AS FAR AS $$$$$ WE COULD HELP YOU.

6.MICS NEEDED WOULD BE BASED ON BUDGET, WHAT YOU'RE RECORDING (VOCAL MICS ARE DIFFRENT FROM DRUM MICS), MIC PRE AMP ETC ETC ETC.

7.THIS GOES BACK TO #4. WHAT ARE YOU RECORDING? DO YOU PLAN ON BUYING EQUIPMENT OR DO YOU PLAN ON RUNNING SOFT SYNTHS?

GET BACK AT US WITH MORE DETAILS.

I agree with Heresy. Behringer just pain sucks. When you can buy a 32 chnl mixer from behringer for less then $700 new that should give you a clue.
By The Way @ Heresy have you heard the Universal Audio 6176 chnl strip, pre amp compressor? Im not sure wether to swoop that or the Avalon around the same price. Any suggestions?
