Local *Legends *Of *Hip *Hop *Rap *Honored *During * 8th *Annual *“Sounds *of *Soul” *Awards
The “Sounds of Soul” keep getting louder as everyone prepares for the annual tribute at the Crest Theater on June 6. With so many stars of gospel; jazz, blues and R&B on tap to perform and to be nominated, it is truly an opportunity to highlight the many genres that create Black music.
Among all of this activity of presenting new stars, current stars and rising stars will be a special time set aside for a tribute to the Local Legends of Hip Hop & Rap from within the Sacramento region.
The honorees are: “Homicide;” “C-Bo;” “Brotha Lynch;” “Marvelous,” “BeGee;” and Blackalisious. Each honoree has contributed mightily to the current state of hip hop music in Sacramento and across the
nation. “Rap music has evolved into a majestry of music and business opportunity for many young people to find their way in life,” said awards show founder Rick Warren.
