you won't, reason will not take in any external audio or let you playback MIDI information from somthing else. Reason is a soft synth with a sequencer for its own devices not a recording software. To have both of these to work with eachother you are gonna need an external MIDI sequencer.

For your other question the answer is a MIDI interface and some MIDI cables hooked into recording software like cubase or sonar. Or you can daisy chain them from your MIDI controller if you have one. Or you can route them into something like an MPC-2000, same concept as the first senerio except you are using the MPC as your master not the recording software.

Shit dog if you have the bread to shell out on a triton rack, i'd suggest putting that cash somewhere else perhaps in the software dept, you will get alot more for your money. Do you have a midi controller?, If not id really suggest getting one before getting any external gear.

So you do have a MIDI controller right??, I'll tell you right now that if you don't Reason will not be used to its full potential. You will have a 808 style drum machine and a loop player and thats about it. all the other synths and shit won't be able to be used very well without a controller

PS you are gonna have to sell ALOT of beats to alot of people to stack enough paper to get a rack, the triton fresh out the box is at least 12-1400 bucks. I hope you got a strong client base, a new producer trying to make a name for himself will be lucky to get 50 bucks for a beat if its good or not, the music biz is a cold bitch and you gotta pay alot of dues. Right now I'm a student at probably the finest audio engineering school in the world still I don't have no guarentees, shits rough so i suggest thinking about doing it for the love and not the money if you are really serious.

yeah a midi controller is a midi controller, pretty much

if you already have a keyboard look on the back and see if it has a MIDI out plug its about 3/4 of an inch round with 5 pin holes. if you get a midi interface with run anywhere from 50-200 bucks and a midi cable you'll be fine.
