SALT LAKE CITY - Amaré Stoudemire dunked for grins, drained three-pointers in streams and bounced around the Delta Center floor with a new bounce in his step.
Then he put on his jacket, moved to the end of the Suns bench and watched the game in a scenario that may not last if he keeps progressing like this. He called it "a great day," following two strong days of scrimmaging in Phoenix.
He said Tuesday that he felt none of the usual right knee soreness he has after workouts.

"If we can keep that up for at least a few more days, three, four, five days and keep going hard, then I'll look forward to coming back pretty soon," Stoudemire said.
Coach Mike D'Antoni could see it sitting courtside as Stoudemire shot Tuesday.
"You can tell when somebody's getting the urge," D'Antoni said. "He's getting the bug, and his legs look good."
