Great points fam...me & my crew stopped trying to do the whole rap thing and got 9-5s because honestly thier aint much opportunity. realistically there isnt.

BIGGEST BAY PROBLEM = no good/real managers (except like one /Fab's manager) & inflated ego's.

SOLUTION:

call a meeting with all the bay rap scene ogs and heads of lables (the small handful of cats that really have a stake in bay rap) and work out a plan amongst eachother.

schedule releases & mass tours...sic wid it has to fuck with thizz, smc, livewire , street cred, up all night & mobb figaz. the factors need to unite.

which most likely wont happen.

bay rap is done. i listen to very and i mean very few select artists from here now cause of the unoriginality out here. same lyrics in songs, always the same featured artists. its old. the bay cant unite and i dont see it happening cause there is too much funk out here. hustlin on the block, hood whatever gets you nowhere but gettin shot, arrested etc so i personally can give a fuck what people do in the streets

one problem, those camps entourages wont get along, trust me, west oakland and fillmoe and then vallejo? lol i would love for it to work.. hood politics is all i could say.

i used to ask a bunch of females about how they feel about music from out here, they use to respond with its hard to dance to the music out here or if they do go to a music event, the artist be callin them bitches and hoes. shit is funny but shit is also hella un appealing at the same time to do.

its hard to mix diff ppl from random area out here because people be on blow, pills, syrup, alcohol, and weed. thats 5 diff drugs, and all it takes is some stupid as to break up a tie.

they tried the conference thing but see it was never set up like a non profit and ppl charged stupid prices but gave out favoritism and let a good majority of ppl in for free. but looking over that,it wasnt consistent,so it buzz it gave off died down.

Like Mac Dre once said 'im too hard for the fuckin radio" well bay rap is too hard in general. Id rather listen to the select few "good" artists we got without them being on the radio and listening to quality music, as opposed to a track someone in an office is deciding on whether it can be played on the air for its content.

I mean we would all love to hear your favorite artist on the radio but realisticallyl it aint going to happen. I really dont know where the bay is headed in going into 2010, but Im sure it can be any worse than this year only will be better.

At the end of the day the music is key and the Bay is not making good music..some are but most aren't...period. All these factors and reasons have nothing to do with anything. Nobody wants to hear Bay music cuz its trash now...borderline embarrassing. You can have the best manager, mixing, mastering, unity, etc.. but if the music sucks none of it matters. Clean out ya ears, go somewhere else for a minutes and then come back to the Bay and listen to our music and I guarantee you'll understand where im comin from. It took me living in ATL, LA, working at warner bros and dropping the "Bay ear" and bias before I could really take an objective look at our artist. Once I did this I started to realize why our music scene is like it is. Most Bay music only sounds good to the Bay. What Bay fans think is good music is most likely viewed as horrible around the rest of the country. This is the biggest problem we're facing. Lack of an objective and realistic ear for music and a super regional and ancient sound.

Rap is on it's death bed, it's over saturated, boring, wack. Clone auto tune trash. The bay does what everybody else does now. Hop on the latest trend, everybody here sounds like a southern rapper. Cats talking about trapping? What? This ain't Atlanta. Auto Tune? Boring. Wack lyrics, wack Rave sounding techno beats. It's done, the Bay needs to give it up.
