I wanna make a studio in my room where i can record my shit. What should be the first couple pieces of equipment i purchase. I got a mic (shitty one) and a computer, got some mixing software (Acid, Cool Edit). That's it right now, let me kno wat order i should purchase my shit in that'll be the most effective/efficient, since right now my budget is kinda tight.

holla

since you already got cool edit and acid......you are basically half way there......if you computer has a burner id say youre pretty much set except for the mic.......you can find a good dynamic mic for under 50 bucks at like any electronic store.....

i think your next purchace should be some kind of sequencer....personally id pick up a software based sequencer such as Fruity Loops.....its pretty affordable and easy to use(in my opinion)

hmm, i got fruityloops and Reason 2.0 aswell, dunno how to use em tho, I havent been fucken wit makin beats really, thinkin bout maybe startin.

yea i dont really kno wasup wit mixing programs and shit, I'm gettin a bit more familiar wit cool edit/ACID and then i dunno, maybe cubase would be a good idea, maybe some other shit (pro tools?).

btw, I made a thread aboiut the mic im using right now, its not good at all i think but its wat im sportin right now, when i get some money ima go grab something better. Thanks for tha plug ill check that Tom Lee place.

Roland has shitty products...except for it's keyboards...and drum machines...
you can get a pretty good mic for around 150...from Studio Projects
and a nice preamp from M-Audio (the DMP3) for the same price i think...
go with a Delta soundcard...
this is the cheap way to have an alright studio
