I HAVE WINDOWS XP, AND AN 8X CD BURNER.....EVERYTHING WORKED FINE ON WINDOWS 98 BUT WHEN I GOT WINDOWS XP, WHENEVER I BURN A CD (I USED SONY CD EXTREME) IT WILL SKIP A TRACK OR TWO, THE TRACK WILL BE THERE..BUT IT'LL JUST BE MUTE...BLANK, U KNOW? SO CAN SOMEONE SUGGEST SOME GOOD PROGRAMS I CAN DOWNLOAD SOMEWHERE? I CAN FIND A PATCH OR A PASSWORD...BUT IF U KNOW A SITE WHERE I CAN GET THEM AT...THATS APPRICIATED.

it might be because your buffer rate isn't fast enough. if you burn directly from cd to cd, or from your computer to cd, try making an image file first on your computer, and then burn the image file onto the cd. in adaptec easy cd creator, the option is something like "create image file." most programs have this option i think.
i don't know how to "fix" or speed up the buffer rate, but the way you get around it is by creating the image file before you burn to the cd. i'm not sure if every program has it, but it will save as "whatever".cif, and then u create the cd from the image file. sounds kinda complicated, but its like 2 extra steps.
