ok, so it's comin time to sign a lease for next year, and heres my situation...i was born and raised in indy ..i graduated high school in '99 and took a year of class at a city college and transferred to IU in bloomington,IN two years ago..well i took classes here for the first year, and withdrew last year cause i still didn't know what i wanted to major in, and was just wasting money...so for the past year i have just been workin and supportin myself...what i'm debating on is whether to move back to nap and get a job (i'm not ready to go back to school) where i have many friends and family, hook ups, girls, familiarity, etc...or to pick up and go westward ho...if i did move out west, i think i would settle in/around portland,OR cause my brother lives there, and i know a few people...but i want to hear any stories yall have about the same type of situation, what you did, how it worked out, and any advice youd give me..thanks in advance

cali is too expensive, portland is a good choice.
I concur. Unless you go to a shitty part of Cali. I heard you CAN NOT live in the bay area by yourself. That is, if your not rich or got a very good job. What kind of skills you got.

i've been in the hotel industry for three years, and with the same company (Marriott) for 2...i've got good customer service skills/training, office experience, multitasking exp., phone skills, communication skills, people skills...im confident that the next hotel job i take will offer me a position at salary within 6-12 months...so the job aspect is not my main concern..my main concern is adapting to a new environment, because honestly, i would be very comfortable living in indy, but i'm 21 and want to experience life outside the midwest
