I think it's silly. Personally. I would never purchase anything like that. It definitely doesn't seem like anything "futuristic."
The second link i gave..You dont think so?...its a differnt way to play keys as opposed to traditional..and for those like myself who just play by ear a lil might develop better skills,or make some better arrangement with this helping you with chords

Seems cool. I would definitely have to try something out like this at GuitarCenter if they have it. But yeah I know what you mean, I also play by ear. I personally use my QWERTY PC keyboard a lot more than my actual midi keyboard. I find it easier to play on for some reason. Maybe because the keys are smaller.

This is pretty cool:

The Axis Midi keyboard:

Seems like a HUGE space saver compared to your average midi keyboard.

Wonder if it has velocity sensitivity?

Inchez Im just like you I have trouble..well not trouble..but This keyboard the axis at first appearance looks complicated because its a different look then what we are used to.Imagine a regular keyboard with all the keys as simple buttons layed out in rows of 7 it would be confusing as well. This axis keyboard simplifies by grouping things a certain way..wich some may be able to grasp easier

Well, sure.

I just prefer traditional "piano" keys. I've been playing piano for 5 years now (Not long) but long enough for me to know that, I prefer the white and black.

Plus the basics are easy, and from there you can only build. Straight up. Piano isn't complicated, unless your trying to play some Chopin, Scriabin, Scarlatti, or Beethovan.

If your a tech junkie, mess with it, that's fine. If your a musician, song writer, and create good music, you stick to the keys.

If it works use it. If it improves your game use it. People make drum patterns on computers and mpc's and no one really complains about that. People also use the keys to play drum patterns and basslines, and again, no one complains about that.

Now the problem with this machine is when it comes to tuning it to another scale. It might have to be played differently, but they probably have it so even though it is tuned different you still hit the same notes or go in reverse who knows.
