Have the RELIGIOUS/ZEALOUS or RELIGION caused more problems than the feeble minded? Should it be ok to cite the weak minded as the cause of the worlds problems yet not consider the faith/religion of the adherents and how that may be a contributor?

Discuss….

So are you and your twisted science
FOLKS READ MY SIG. IF ANYONE'S A THREAT, IT'S PEOPLE OF HIS KIND.
Let me translate:

1. We don't want anybody telling us we're stupid, ignorant and illiterate. We secretly know it but we prefer to pretend it's not true

2. We don't want anybody telling us we believe in something that normal children, who grew up without any form of child abuse around, reject around the same time they realize there is no Santa Claus - when they are 5-7 year old

3. We don't want anybody telling us the planet is 10 years away from destruction - it can't be true, we're God-like creatures, it's not possible for God-like creatures to be so stupid to destroy the planet God chose for them...

4. We don't want anybody telling us that what we believe in, the destruction of the planet, and our inevitable extinction when this happens are closely related. After all, God won't let us die, we're his major creation....

Humans evolved from bacteria?
not known

bacteria-like organisms - for sure

if you prefer the term "progenote world" - use it every time you can, it's currently the most accurate, although not widely used and known

No need to do it, it's been done - comparative genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology. What we don't know is whether it was a bacteria, archaebacteria or something else that gave rise to eukaryotes.

Whole genome sequences show that life has most certainly passed through a stage of extensive LTG (lateral gene transfer) out of which the three/two major domains appeared (depending on whether you accept a 2D or 3D division of life, 2D is more accurate) - bacteria and archaebacteria and eukaryotes. There might have been more but they left no ancestors and no distinguishable fossils. This stage - when cells were actively exchanging genes through LTG and, therefore, no species existed is called the progenote world. The progenote world ends with the Darwinian restriction point when barriers to LTG appeared and natural selection started acting on cells, not on life as a whole. When and how the major domains split from the progenote world is not clear yet.

Is this too confusing?

Vertical evolution- from fish to human can not be proven
It can and we have done it, we have fossils, molecular data, comparative genomics, anatomy, embryology, etc.

We will even be soon able to reconstruct the genomic rearrangements that took place in the vertebrate lineage after the genome duplicated twice in Silurian/Devonian

in my opinion there is no difference between the zealots and the weak minded. Those that would have others die in the name of how they worship their view of God and so forth, are weak minded. Those that can't remain open minded in their journey for truth in this world are weak minded. So I'd have to say that the zealots and the weak minded are one in the same.

Just because you are a zealot does not mean you are not open minded. Perfect Example of weak minded people, ThaG. Perfect example. I am a known zealot but I also am in search of the truth, I know I found the truth in Christ my God, but the truth in every aspect of life other than the spiritual side.

In my opinion, atleast in America, the Zealous are much to blame for what society is today. I firmly believe the "poor" have been victims of the religious faith. We see it in "the hood" all the time. People are asked to "give God your problems", "give offerings", "pray about your situations", yet, no actually tells them how to really deal with their lives. How to help pay off debt, or how to get an education and better yourself.

In Christianity you are taught to deal with what you have because if you have TOO MUCH, then you are like the Rich man that didnt want to give up his belongings to follow Jesus. So yes, Religious/Religion/Zealous people are much to blame for this.

I am just glad people are starting to see the other side of the triangle and see Christianity, Islam, etc for what it is. A religion, nothing more and nothing less.

Can you rewrite the last sentence, I couldn't find much logic in it?
