I don't know if this belongs in this forum but has anyone ever bought a sealed cd and then opened it and found and entirely different cd in the case?

This has happened to me 3 times.

I got lucky once, I opened a Loki cd and found a GAN faithful to the streets inside. The interesting part about that is that I already had sArtwork for that CD but lost it somehow and then I get it in a Loki cd? to make it even more strange was that I just randomly grabbed it out of a box of 50 to give it a listen.

It was really no big deal considering I only paid 50 cents for the Loki cd in a bulk lot deal, but I was shocked none the less.

The other two times I got a spice 1 greatest hits and a Petey Pablo cd - both were well used.

I don't know if the people who package these cds just listen to music while they're packaging these things and then randomly misplace their cds and they end up being packaged with the run they''re doing or if they're just playing a joke on people.

That's super random. I've never even heard of that. Imagine how pissed you'd be if you dropped good money on some sealed copy of something rare from like 95, open it only to find an Ace of Base cd or some shit.

I've always though it would be cool to buy a case of pop. Open it and find beer in the mt. dew cans.

Yeah that would suck if you paid 10-15 bucks for a cd and ended up with an ace of base.

Shit man - it was 50 cents so.....

The funny part is that I usually just sell my junk overstock to cd stores - and they open every one of them. When I asked why they explained what I said in my OP..... That's how I got the Spice 1 greatest hits cd... I brought in a box of like 100 cds of just random sealed junk and this guy is opening every one of these cds, and I'm asking him why and he's like "sometimes wrong cds are in the case or just empty" and literally 2 minutes later he is like "look."

BTW buying large cd lots online and selling them to used cd stores or even to the "corporate" stores like sam goodie or FYI can be quite lucrative.

You could buy a cd lot for 50 bucks and walk out of one of those joints with 100-200 bucks.

Only problem is you just have to do your homework and know what you're buying and what a store will pay, and make sure all artwork is included and that the cd's aren't scratched.

It's a good way to make a few bucks.

I haven't done it in a while, and considering walmart and other retailers are selling cd's for 5 bucks now I don't think most stores would pay much.

I will say tho I have pissed away a shit ton of rares at used or corporate cd stores.... I had like 100 Sicx - Dead 4 Life cds that I sold for basically nothing to those stores because I couldn't sell them on ebay - now they're like 40 each.

Hell, I sold a Mr. Ivan 187 in a hockey mask to a used cd store for 5 bucks...

When I did that tho I had no idea people actually collected cds.....

Sorry about the rant/dissent but.....

Swoop I definitely wish I had your library of rare rap knowledge man. You would be the perfect drunk dude at a party to take over DJ duties. When I say that I mean I would dig it but most people would be like, WTF is this dude playing?!?

I do, I'm a DJ, Producer, Promoter etc....

I've thrown several parties player and I'm occasionally behind the tractor.

The only thing is I don't want to get the crowed too hyped up..... But you know I play shit DJ's usually will not play (or have even heard of).... But what I do is complicated, I'll pick a song, take the lyrics, match it all up/sinc it all up with dubstep beat and let the crowed go nuts...

I spent one night actually dubstepping brother lynch, sicx and X-raided cds...

The only problem is girls want booty music to grind and the niggaz want what the ladys want so gangsta shit is difficult to work into a set unless you do it right.

Lil Wyane type shit is a good into for a party before you get serious and start scratching and doing remixes and all that shit.

Also, if you have any questions or anything just PM me.... You can DJ yourself man... It's just the music and when you actually play it is the key - you gotta feel the crowed man, if they get too hyped you got to mellow them out, if they get too mellow you gotta hype them up...

The goal is no anarchy, when croweds get all fucked up - they have a penchant for going anarchistic.... When that happens shit gets really fucked up.

I know there are several areas/parties where no one will get out of line but I'm used to them trying to get out of line, and also you need decent security.

That is just the basics, but if you have any specific questions hit me up.
