A special video documentary focusing on local gangs and the increasing violence throughout Modesto will be released to the public in July. Facing potential cuts to his already understaffed department, the Sheriff showed a preliminary 12-minute version of the first 3-weeks of footage to the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors in early June.
The final production will feature interviews with local law enforcement leaders; members of the Board of Supervisors; ex-gang members; educators; front-line gang detectives and other local experts. The video will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what law enforcement officers are up against in Stanislaus County. It will also provide some strategies for the public to become involved in the solution.
