After all these years, do ya'll feel that his rise and fall was a good or bad thing for the Bay scene?
On one hand, the exposure and attention was big for us at the time (early-90s), but there was a lotta negative fallout too. Your opinions would be appreciated.

Hammer's a Pioneer in my opinion, first "corporate" rap artist and he was from the Bay.......remember how long ago was he doing KFC commercials and now u got Ludi and these other artists in all types of commercials nowadays....I know peeps gonna try and clown but Hammer did his theezo, except he should had a better accountant....

hammer opened up the door for commercial rap, he made it ok to not care about where you came from, and made it ok to do what ever it takes to stay safe and make money.

i feel hammer opened up doors for what now days is MTV type rap.

The bay come hard on tracks and has always spoke on real shit non stop. who ever speak on life in the bay as they live it, or lived it, then thats who's reppin the bay.

and Hammer had some real topics, like "Pray" ect. I mean they weren't hard, but they had meaning to him...

HAMMER did his thing to uplift the whole rap industry in general. Because he was from the bay, when he took his fall, lots of folks were dissing but I guess being a pioneer, the good comes with the bad even though he messed up his own money trying to pay the nation!!!
