its gonna become available in a few dayz maybe 2 or 3, not sure. but if you got a copy of that game Crackdown. you'll beable to play the halo3 beta. when you pop in crackdown some downloadable live update should come up for halo 3 and there you go. to bad it wont be in the demo section tho, you gotta have that fuckin game to play it:( . halo 3 looks tight none the less, im lookin forward to this one

I think the release date is May 16th so Wednesday I would look for the beta to be up. Shit go to gamestop and buy a used Crackdown or rent it to see if its worth spending money to play halo's beta. Plus Crackdown itself isnt that bad of a game.

Consumers who qualified for beta access to Halo 3 will be donning Spartan armor and competing online on May 16.

Microsoft announced Tuesday that the long awaited beta access to Halo 3 -- which marks consumers first time playing Bungie Studios' sequel -- will occur on May 16.

The beta will be available to download on Xbox Live, Microsoft's online multiplayer matchmaking and distribution service for the Xbox and Xbox 360. It will include three action-oriented maps, named Snowbound, High Ground, and Valhalla, representing a mix of large- and medium-scale combat, according to the Microsoft press release issued Tuesday morning. All-new weapons and vehicles will also be included.

Beta access was granted via the "Rule of Three" promotion, which has now concluded, or from purchasing Microsoft-published Xbox 360 title, Crackdown.

yeah, the crackdown game itself has the link to download the halo 3 beta. but you have to have the crackdown game in your system at all time to play it. so you can rent it and play the beta but you have to make sure that you have the game when you play it. if you take the game back then you dont got the beta no more.

Bad news for owners of the specially marked copy of Crackdown. As of yet, May 16th 8:35 a.m. PT, the Halo 3 multiplayer beta is not available for those users. Those who got a code by email with instructions on how to participate in the beta are not experiencing any problem at all.

Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, has not provided any info yet on this issue. Bungie's Frank O'Connor simply said that they know about the issue but they cannot provide a new time for the download, simply stating "with any luck this will be a short delay."

If you are not into sandbox games and you bought a copy of Crackdown just to enter the Halo 3 beta, well, we know how you feel...

Update 1

We’re aware that some users are having difficulty downloading the Halo 3 multiplayer beta via Crackdown. Bungie Studios is working with the Xbox Live team to resolve this as quickly as possible. Stay tuned. Gamers entering the beta through other means, such as the Friends and Family remain unaffected.
