Any of you guys use it?

It's looks to me to be the closest approximation to a "virtual MPC" out there, as far as VSTi plugs go.

I tried out the trial, I liked what was going on.

How about Phatmatik Pro? That seems comparable (and $100 cheaper), but I like that you can run that Guru standalone with no host, when you just want to get down with it by itself.

I'm considering it, but $250 is a lot of bread for a little bit of code. I'd still need some drum pads to get a closer approximation to an MPC, but can get by with my Oxygen8 keys in the meantime..

It definitely looks cool, but for me it's kind of pointless because I really like FL Studio as a drum machine VSTi/Host. I think it's hella easy to use and setup. Just use FL Studio's Step Sequencer/Piano Roll and there you have it.

But yeah Guru is probably the closest thing to an MPC in software form.

I finally broke down and bought it, I love that shit.

It will be even greater when I get a pad controller.

What's pointless about it?

It's no more pointless than an MPC (which isn't pointless at all..)

It's NOTHING like an MPC.

Fuck with NI Kontakt.

That's a solid plugin.

It's very similar to an MPC and is the closest thing to a PC-based approximation of one.

You still haven't said why Guru is no good in the studio and is better suited for live use.

no worries though, it's not worth arguing over, I just wanted to see if there were other users in here I could bounce tips & techniques off of.

It's gonna be the joint when I get my Akai MPD 24 to control it, but that's not gonna stop me from freakin' it in the meantime..
