he is irrelevant due to his many jail stints. everytime he goes to jail a new nigga emerges and takes his place. you are right, everybody is rappin about the same shit he raps about, its just now we have many options to choose from.

yeah ur right man. i just think his music sounds better than the rappers trying to sound like him. Bricksquad sounds the best on Lex Luger production but ofcourse so many producers took his sounds so now. Theres like 5 producers that use the lex luger kit off top.

Southside, Sonny Digital, Young Chop, Mike Will. im sure there are others. i dont even know y im postin this shit. Go Thunder!! I hope the spurs get swept

He didnt start that trap rap shit lets be real Master P brung that shit to rap in the 90's. beats might been different but P brung the shit to the table worldwide. why you think he called him self Mr. Ice Cream man
thats the 1st cd i ever stoled back when the wherehouse used to let people exchange cd's. damm i miss them days. master p started it alright but im talkin about the chain of trap rappers that came out after gucci. i guess im kinda hatin cuz i still listen to gucci. lol. his shit just sound more authentic to me. and i wish the the lex lugar clones could just stop takin his sound

Yeah these so called rappers stole the zaytoven & lex luger beat patterns now that gucci brought out first you are absolutely right about that part. but them trap beats are like the easiest beats to make they simple as fuck anyone can make one and can be made in ten minutes on FL studio program.

its lex fault honestly bc he the one who put drum packs/kits up for muhfuckas to download. I used to fuck with lex back in soundclick days before he was discovered. It was a guy named Wes Fif that lex used to produce for first.

And there is 808 Mafia too, of course. But Southside and 808 Mafia are people who are working with Lex and I have the feeling that he is tired of making trap beats and is more than happy to leave it to them to churn them out.

Of the rest, Sonny Digital is the only who comes close to matching the style, and even he is not on the same level - yes, those beats are easy to make, but it is also very easy to make generic beats with no identity that just happen to have those same sounds. There are some producers who are avoiding that trap, for example here:

but the majority are just killing the style right now

Gucci single-handedly held it down for the trap during the darkest years of the autotune madness. That alone is sufficient to earn him a much more respectable place in hip-hop history than he currently holds.
