Gucci Mane May Face Over A Year In Prison, Defense Argues For House Arrest

January 24 will determine Gucci Mane's 2011, as November's driving incident was no fender-bender for the rapper's future.

Atlanta, Georgia rapper Gucci Mane made headlines in November for violating parole when he was arrested for several driving infractions, and subsequently charged with damaging government property and obstruction of property. The Brick Squad 1017 leader was fresh out of prison from drug-related convictions.

According to HipHopEnquirer.com, the Warner Brothers/Asylum Records artist may face over a year of prison time, beginning soon. Reports indicate that a judge has recommended the rapper serve a felony sentence, while Gucci Mane's defense team is seeking house arrest.

Gucci Mane's hearing is presently set for January 24, 2011.

I hate this guy. With his lazy ass flow and lyrics about color coordination. I don't give one fuck about what color your car, shoes, teeth, etc. etc., are. Dudes like this are killing rap. I also suggest arresting Shawty Lo, Soljaboy, Rick Ross, OJ Da Juiceman, and any other "rapper" who is destroying the game. It's embarassing as an avid rap fan, and it's hard to defend the rap i like when this is the shit people hear all day.

His next album will probably be his best yet and no one will care lol. I might check his next album tho, going to jail motivates rappers.

I've said it before....Dude was really blowing up around 2008-2009 and just ruined everything for himself when he got locked up when State Vs Radric Davis dropped. If he had not gotten locked up that time, that album would've seen better sales. Nigga could've been easily touring, go on 106 & Park, have more control with the singles etc.

Even Waka Flocka Flame was way more talked about than Gucci last yr. How you gonna let your own labelmate be more hotter than the CEO?

imo his buzz and career been over after he dropped that last album that nobody bought bc he over flooded himself. the government is cleaning up the rap scene lol they need to lock up all these homoish tight jean wearing rappers next so the game can change

Yeah he ruined it majorly his appeal album is his best album too. T.i ruined his own career too. I heard jarule going to prison for two years. Looks like these rappers be thinking just bc they got money or a name they can do whatever they want and not get in trouble.

the attention span of the rap fan these days is hella short. He gonna come out of jail and no one aint gonna give a crap about him. Be different if he was one of top guys like a eminem or a lil wayne. X-Nine is right he definitely dropped the ball when Wasted came out and that usher single too. Soon as the usher single came out he gets locked up and thats the end of that. This is the third time he has been locked up when he is buzzin.

I was not feeling Gucci at all before, but I fuck with his newer stuff. He's improved a lot imo. I just don't expect lyrical content, it's all about the beats & swag.
