40 got 3 1/2 mics... Even though they dissed him at the end of the review (sounds like he's going through puberty, etc.,) I think the only albums that scored higher this month were Styles & Eminem's...

Fa'real.....they couldn't give a mic rating to the new Benzino 'cause they caught some shit from the earlier Benzino & crew reviews since he (Benzino) is part owner of the damn magazine.

@GANGSTAEIGHT

I think the Albums u mentioned are from a Period when the West was Runnin the Game(Unlike nowadays) and Benzino wasnt an official Co-Owner yet

but 4 REEEAL tho

If the source was my only ''Source'' of Imformation about the Game I would have never Known most of the People I consider my Favorite Artists today and have a slightly different definition of ''Underground/Gangsta''-Rap

Stop Hatin on Benzino. That nigga got straight love for the west .
I seen him in Frisco with Made man , he was cool. Dont hate on a Player. Just because E-40 last album was booty compared to his usual stuff. Remember e-40 is on the same label as Britney Spears

Benzino has put it down for years. Before E-40 . He is from Roxbury in Boston. He had songs with the East Sidaz, Daz and Kurupt and he is bicoastal. The Almighty RSO didnt sell millions , nor did Mademan. Like Murder Dog Magazine usually only cover West and South at least the Source give props to San Quinn, Rondoe and Crazy Rak( Gave them an album review) Too Short, E-40 , JT the Bigga Figga, and other artists, all over the map.
I do agree that Def Jam and Universal buys covers, but dont judge the magazine by its cover. I am sick of Master P, Snoop, Eminem or Jay Z hogging the Source covers. Dont hate on Benzino .

it's obvious people are buyin covers. personally, i like Master P but not many other people give a fuck about him anymore and he's gettin the cover cause he's got money and he's on Universal now

The source was a better magazine until Def Jam and Universal started buying up all the Ads or gave deals with companies to advertise. I wonder what happen with all that Black empowerment movement. It got lost with the BLing Bling , Rollin on Dubbs, and ICE mentality. I guess its all about the money.
