NO, THATS A GOOD QUESTION. SOME PEOPLE LISTEN TO RAP BECAUSE ITS POPULAR, ADN THEIR FREINDS DO. BUT ME, I LOVE IT, I BEEN LISTENING SINCE I WAS A LIL KID, AND HARD SHIT TOO NOT MC HAMMER. AND I REMEMBER WATCHING CMC BEFORE IT WENT GAY. THATS THE FIRST I HEARD OF BAY AREA RAP, I LIKED IT EVER SINCE, THATZ Y I LISTEN TO RAP.
Some rap is not worth listening.Theirs some that don't even make sence especially in their rhymes,but if it does and the beats are firme then is a koo.especially the old skoo rap.I beleive if their beats weren't around,.I think most rappers wouldn't have nothing to create their beats to rap on.

I listen to Chicano Rap because out of a mountain of crap, you can find one or two talented rappers that blow away any commercial rapper out there and hopefully sticks to issues concerning Chicanos. My favorites are mainly underground, small community spitters that dont make any impact on national soundscans.
Why? like killax831xkali said. u can relate to it. but to some point. yea hearin that killin scraps and fuckin hoes is fine n dandy n all that good shit, but for example i started to listen to underground shit cuz it came from the city. I dont know no rapper from san pancho that got big and thats on mtv. To be a good rapper is to rap about everything ur about. from talking to how ur mom spanked u when u were a little boy to how ur struggling as n adult and have to look for a way to get that next meal. thats what makes a good rapper. i listen to rap because i can relate to it, like the beats, hear the music that represents my city and its just entertaining
I started out listenin to rock N heavy metal-around age 14 is when i was confused, sad N angry alot. Thats my relation to heavy metal.
About 17 I noticed i really had no slow or soft music, so i took a chance at hiphop-mostly for the beats. when I listen to the lyrics, I felt another kind of relation of expression with that type of music.
I still continue to listen to both worlds for personal relations, plus i listen for the entertainment too, I especially like to see them perform live.
