i'd download it first and give it a listen... it had a few decent tracks but for the most part i thought it was the weakest of the solo albums between him sabac and bill. i could just be biased cause their albums were dope as fuck from start to finish, but i just wasn't feelin goretex's shit as much.

Fuck all you this is the reality of the album from my point of view.

Ready begin.

I respect Goretex for his shit in Nonphixion. His solo shit was not half as solid. When I first got this album I treated it like my Six Feet Under: Maximum Violence album. Listened to it twice and was like eh' not feelin' it. After a while and listening to other people on the labels shit I was like I'll give it another try. It had to grow on me, but it is not an awful album. Not a good way to start solo, but Gore to me could never hold down a track really on his own. Whether or not most of the lines from this album were written by him are questionable since Necro went at him online saying him and Bill wrote a whole gang of Gore's shit.

What I like about the album is that for the most part Gore went with his own sound. The albom sound very different from a Necro album or an Ill Bill album as far as producto goes and the atmosphere. The whole album has a feel to it and atmosphere that never really changes. Somewhat eerie sounding on some sort of mental trip in ways.

Best Songs IMO:
Momentary Lapse of Reason
Celebrity Roast - Attacks on all sorts.
Born of Fire
Earth Rot - Just the beat is off the hook. On some march of death type of shit.
Blessed Are The Sick - Bullshit hook. Verses ain't bad. Rockish sound.
Extreme Makeover - Dig the producto.
Eulogy - Sadie is probably a dirty cunt, but her shit is squared away. The verses ain't bad and the producto is a trip.
60:00 - Interesting concept. Good hook and verses.

Pigmatyr is by far my favorite song on this album tho. Necro obviously steals the track, but Gore's verse wasn't bad either. Necro sounds almost like towards the end of his shit he is just freestyling. He has some many lines and verses it doesn't seem impossible.

To me thealbum was worth buying just because to me the sound was interesting. I have yet to hear anything like a Goretex album.

"You Got Beef - You Roll Deep - You're Covered With Thugs
You'll Be A Hundred Mutha Fuckers Runnin' From Slugs
"

You really want a good album:
Six Feet Under: Maximum Violence

If anyone has Sabacs album tell me about it? I heard some really solid tracks on there like the one with JMT and the Positive/Negative track with Necro.

I've listened to it once thus far. I agree mostly with what you said. I really haven't bumped it enough to pick favorite tracks yet.
The one track that really stood out for me, was Destined To Rep.

The biggest problem I have with the album, are all the fucking movie clips/interludes through the whole album. He should have just added them at the end of songs, instead of making them their own track.
Also, a lot of the songs are incredibly short.

Sabac's album is gold from start to finish... while this isn't your traditional rap album, aka no party anthems, no songs about fuckin bitches, no songs about dealin drugs, it still touches on alot of different subjects, and if you listen to it in context with everything that was goin on at the time of it's release, and you think about the shit that's goin on right now, it really speaks to you... in other words, it's not somethin to throw on at a party if you wanna "get crunk", more like somethin to sit down with by yourself and smoke a blunt and have a few beers and give it a serious listen through... as far as the quality... production is extremely solid throughout, if not spectacular, and every last word hits you and really sinks into your brain... A Change Gon' Come, I Have a Dream, Unsolved Mysteries, Fight Until the End (i think that's the name of it) and The Scientist were probably my favorite tracks off of it, all those tracks just had dope ass beats, crazy yet intelligent lyrics, and they just all in all blew my mind. that's not to say the other tracks were trash though.... on the contrary, like i said, the whole album is bangin, those tracks were the ones that really jumped at me though. the Revelation skits were pretty cool too, and if nothing else they were different. Bottom line, any way you look at it, this was a sick album.

I have a hard enough time listening to necro. I dont really like all the horrorcore from new york. Its backpacker type music. I never really given gortex a chance.

me personally, i'm the exact opposite when it comes to that--- interludes & shit like that NEED to be given their own track. that way if you don't like them & wanna burn a cd, it doesn't fuck up your mix.

that being said, "shabbos" & uncle howie's "crawlspace" (both interludes) were 2 of my favorite tracks on the album. "shabbos" especially.

in fact, i think the interludes & the overall atmosphere of the cd were a big part of why i liked it. i saw one reviewer describe the production as "dusty" & "cerebral," & for some reason that description really stuck with me..i think he hit the nail on the head.

there was some filler in there (& he got out-shined on some tracks), but if it grows on you then i'd recommend buying it. the cover art/booklet is dope if you're a collecter..its worth having.

the only tracks i absolutely couldn't listen to were "blessed are the sick" (couldn't get into the rock-ish sound) & "eulogy." IMO sadie has no talent what-so-ever..her voice pierces my ears. was that her on "positive & negative"? if so, she almost ruined a classic track with her vocals @ the end.

anyway, just thought i'd add my 2 cents..i'm sure you've already formulated your own opinion on this shit by now tho. i'd give it a 7.5 or an 8 out of 10.

of course, Brutality Part 1 shits on it tho..even his tracks on that compilation were better than anything he put out on The Art of Dying. personally BP1 is my favorite psychological release. but i can understand why the production wasn't on the same level..necro was hatin' goretex by the end of his relationship with the label.

also, i'm not sure about the claims that necro & ill bill wrote his lyrics..cuz i've heard a couple of his newer tracks (since leaving the label), & it seems like he's only gotten better.
