Good Sites To Use?

To find artists/dj's/etc who need graphics? All the freelance sites I've seen cost $$$ to sign up, and I doubt there's many rappers/dj's/etc that post on there lol. Any forums/message boards/sites where you can get some work?

naw, but really, i get most my clients by word of mouth. i do good work for somebody, and then one of their friends asks who did that, they give my name, and so on. thats how ive always gotten my clients, ive never advertised on forums or anything like that

Yeah, that's called networking.

Yeah word of mouth is best. I know someone who even has too many customers. She never advertised or anything, just word of mouth. She has a blog but I'm not sure if she started it before or after freelancing for a living.

This thread should be a sticky cus its too many talented artists thats not gettin paid cus they dont know how to promote their work and get known.

these days myspace is good.
nearly everyone in the industry has a myspace. Its great for networking and promotion and if you can get some work for cats that will be seen alot your half way there.
Also if you can make your work set you apart from the main stream designers all over the net and do something different that not every man and they dog is doing then people will come to YOU because they like YOUR style.
You shouldn't have to chase clients.
