Right now i've just started reading a book called Red Diaper Baby: A Boyhood in the age of McCarthyism by James Laxer. It's about his life growing up with communist parents, during McCarthyist times. Its interesting so far.

I guess I'll post it in here as well. Has anyone read The Republic of Plato or Pragmatism and other writings, by William James.

how is this book?
It's a good read...pretty much an autobiography, he talks about being a junkie, pretty simple and plain, but his ideas about being dope sick, and then kicking, and the dope sick cells regenerating stronger than before are pretty wild...he paints vivid word pictures.
