WE ALL KNOW WHAT FEAR IS BUT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE. IT SEEMS LIKE NOWADAYS PEOPLE FEAR THAT THEY WILL BE CAST AWAY TO SOME EVERLASTIN' TORTURE AND THAT'S WHY THEY FEAR (gOD) OR FEAR DOIN' DRASTIC THANgS.

BUT JUST LIKE A FATHER YOU SHOULD FEAR (gOD) IF YOU A SPIRITUAL PERSON AND BELIEVE IN HIM AND ARE ATTEMPTIN' TO DO HIS WILL. NOT FEAR HIM AS IN BEIN' SCARED WHAT HE MIgHT DO TO YOU BUT HAVE A NATURAL FEAR TO LET HIM DOWN.

THAT'S ANOTHA REASON I DON'T BELIEVE IN HELL BEIN' AN ACTUAL PLACE OF TORMENT WHERE OUR CREATOR RESERVES IT FOR WRONgDOERS. OUR CREATOR SHOULDN'T STOOP THAT LOW TO FRIgHTEN HIS CREATION. IT IS INSTILLED IN US TO BE SPIRITUAL AND HAVE A gODLY FEAR. TO TRY TO PLEASE OUR FATHER AND FEAR TO LET HIM DOWN.

Yea, I used to be like that, I feared hell. As I've learned more about god, and grown close to him, now I don't feel being thrown into hell, partially because I honestly don't believe I'll go there, I fear letting him down... Like I feel more ashamed than afraid anymore when I trip up.

^^ I generally take the bible literally, and it seems to point to a firey pit. I haven't thought about Heresy's comment that the lake of fire, and hell are two different places.

On the other hand, Hell MAY be us just kept from our father in heaven, forever, with full knowledge of our sins on earth that kept us from there... the bible also mentions that the people in hell will be able to see heaven, if that's literal, or figurative, it means we will know what we missed out on, which would be enough torment.

I believe I got into this subject with him before as well heresy. It seems regardless of what is brought up he will say..this is just symbolic.....although he will never say what it is supposed to symbolize. I think what it symbolizes is pretty straight forward--hell (what it feels like to be completely separated from God). May I ask what the symbolism is in Matthew 25 with the story of the talents? (although there are many things to be taken from that, the idea of hell is one of them) Or maybe explain what Jesus is talking about midway through that chapter when he talks about the end times. Please read that chapter 25 and most importantly explain the last sentence. "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life". May I ask what Jesus is trying to represent in Matthew 22 or Luke 13 when he speaks of people being thrown into "outer darkness" where there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth"? Please explain the symbolism.

I use a variety. My main easy to access resource is actually online at www.bluebookbible.org where you can see all the different translations and then look at the Hebrew/greek words which they were translated from. But as for the descriptions as "outer darkness" and there being "weeping and gnashing of teeth" that is the same in the NKJV, NLT, NASB, RSV, NIV, Young's, Darby's, ASV, the only different versions I see is webster's who says "utter darkness" instead of "outer". NHV which says "grinding" instead of "gnashing". Which doesn't even matter. For Heresy's reference it says "exoteros skotos" and "klauthmos kai brugmos odous"

in matt 8:29 is the same as luke. why are the demons speaking of tormented BEFORE a certain time??????
