giving the client psds?

It can be practice, however, usually that discussion is exchanged prior to the start of the project. Usually, uninformed clients will ask; only because they have no idea on how the game works. What I tell clients is that I have no problem handing them over the editable work, however, at a charge because I'm handing them a template where they or another designer can make changes and updates to the work, thus having no need for my services. I tell them it's equal to a chef handing over his reciepe; surely the reciepe holds value over the initial meal. With the meal I have you coming back...selling you the reciepe it's all yours for a small token ($100 to $400 or more).

i'd only send it if it was flattened.. why would they need all the layers, unless they tryna pull some shady shit or somethin, but shit if they willin to pay an extra bill or somethin then its str8 as fuck lol

good info guys..i'm new to the game so thats what I was wondering..one other thing is when you save something as a jpeg at maximum quality they image changes doesn't look like the .psd file..how do you guys save your files as jpegs and still keep the real clean work???

if u save them as PDF they will keep the same quality and cant be fucked with if u merge the layers in photoshop
