MUSCOY, Calif. (AP) ―
A San Bernardino County girl was killed by an ice cream truck while celebrating her first birthday.
The California Highway Patrol says Diana Morales was watching her brother buy candy from the ice cream truck Wednesday evening when she was run over in rural Muscoy, which is some 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
The girl's family had planned to throw her a birthday party that evening.
CHP Sgt. Daniel Temple says the ice cream truck driver, a 47-year-old San Bernardino woman, didn't know she struck the girl until officers found her later. The woman wasn't cited.
