I can get a really good deal on a Yamaha (DGX500). It says it has general MIDI. Does that mean it has in and out, or just the MIDI out? I have an Akai DPS 12 and a MPC 2000XL. Will this work with it?

Genereal MIDI is a Set of Standard Sounds, that are the same on all Keyboards and Modules. So like #1 is Like Piano, And So on. That way people can Transfer Sequences between machines Easily Without havin' to Load up all new patch Names. It will work if it has MIDI ins and Outs. It probably has itz own set of sounds besides MIDI as well, Most Keyboard do have more the the General MIDI Patches. Hope that Helps.
