I'd recommend it to everyone here.

Genuine, legitimate investigative reporting, in-depth looks at the issues, etc.

Along with NPR programming, PBS is about the best we can do here in America as far as legitimate news, so I'd recommend more people on here get into it.

On top of what you said, it's surely unbiased compared to the mega TV News Fox, MSNBC and CNN.

Co-sign, for the most part, all the rest is just 'infotainment'

Anyone have dish network? I was staying at a buddy's house a little while back and I was looking over the channels and found one called FSTV, or Free Speech TV. The channel number was somewhere in the 900's but it showed all kinds of anti-government/bush documentaries and shows. I don't think they were profiting from the station either because they showed very, very few commercials and were always asking for donations. Basically it is a TV station discussing most of the issues brought up on this board from the other side of the spectrum.

PS: Dish network sucks, I know.

I have basic cable. The channels go from 2 to like 81. Cable tv is a scam. See, you pay for all these channels and half of them you don't even understand because they speak a different language (but I've saw some BAD latinas on the spanish channels), you have 8 channels devoted to shopping, 3 devoted to local access that scroll the same messages over and over, and the golf channel (this SUCKS.)

I might just get this crap cut off and stick to internet. Every show on tv I can watch on the net or download via bit torrent.

^If a la carte cable goes through, you may be able to pick channels on a one-by-one basis.

Obviously a better choice, thus, it will not succeed.

I have the Dish Network top package, and what I have ended up doing is making a favorites list out of maybe 150 channels.

Works alright for me, although I'd like to be able to delete channels.

I got ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, tha new CW (formally UPN), sometimes the rabbit ears pick up Fox, but always with Static, KONG, TBN, and just lost the WB at the new crib....

Haven't had cable since '01, and honestly the only thing I really miss is sports (especially during playoff time), but at least its a good excuse to link up with some homies to catch up and watch a game, or a bar for happy hour.

Them late night british comedies on PBS really aren't funny at all though...

Fronline's cool.
my favorite show is California Hearland & California's Gold. Both programs are very informative and give you an idea of how big california is and what it has to offer as far as stuff to do, agriculture, historic sites etc. I've lived here for 20 years and havn't even been up north that much to discover what california has to offer. I'm a nature dude so more than likely you'll find me in hiking Yosemite Ntl Park, boating @ Don Pedro or Clear Lake, visiting vineyards for a taste of local wines, crawling through Moaning Carverns, going off roading in So. Cal's ghosttowns, or visiting my sister-in-law in the land of the Redwoods. Cali is beautiful and before i leave i plan on visiting as many sites as possible and taking tons of photographs to share with my family and the rest of the world.
