The producer of a controversial DVD rolled into the valley Monday in a white van promoting his latest version, Fresno Uncensored 2.
"It's a real great look into what actually took place after Fresno Uncensored (part one). A lot of people think that I'm in Jail, a lot of people I've heard thought I was even dead, I'm still here," said Lonnell Greene.
KMPH News caught up with Greene also known as "Nitti" in a parking lot off Highway 99 in Madera where he sold a copy of his latest DVD to Taher Hussein for $15. Hussein says he bought a copy because he was intrigued by the controversy surrounding it.
The other man reviewing the video Monday was Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer. He says the original Fresno Uncensored video resulted in the arrest and prosecution of more than thirty people.
"I watched the video, it's a lot more tamed than the first video," said Dyer.
But, just like Part One, Chief Dyer says this latest DVD is also helping investigators identify potential gang members.
"I'm confident there will be some arrests as the result of the video," said Dyer.
He's calling it an investigative tool for the Department's Gang Unit and a potential threat to the Rapper behind it.
"In the video there are photographs of individuals and there is a caption over them that either says informant or rat," said Dyer. That's always a concern because there is a potential for some type of retaliation to occur against those individuals or against the Producer of the video."
Chief Dyer says four suspected gang members were killed after the release of the first Fresno Uncensored video in 2005. Green spent more than three years in court facing criminal charges because of that DVD. Last December, the District Attorney dropped those charges, citing insufficient evidence.
As for his latest version, Greene says it's nothing more than an 'urban documentary.'
"It just depends on how the public perceives it," said Greene. The public is the one who can deem something controversial."
