that really doesnt mean anything anymore.... DJs are always supposed to innovate and be foreward thinking, so the whole "no computer, stay with vinyl" mentality is basically ass-backwards.

probably a good mix, but this statement was just stupid.

actually not a stupid statement cause anyone can go computer mixing but taking it back to vinyl if you dont have the skill for that your funked. Think of it this way playa. A person can produce tracks with machines but give them a piano or guitar can they do it?

Your statement was just stupid and you showed your complete ignorance. First off research what an mp3 is and how it compromises the quality of the sound significantly. Anyway good lookin on this mix.

the point i was making was that there is NO difference in the SKILLS of using a Serato system with turntables / mp3s and using vinyl. You still have to have the ability to mix / blend / cut etc... so why is it so special to use vinyl..

and as for smartypants with the mp3 comment, we ALL know the difference in sound quality... BUT YOU JUST DOWNLOADED THE MIX, so you've already lost quality...even if he DID use vinyl... so your point is invalid...

all im saying is, why is the skill-level any different in mixxing using serato vs vinyl... 90% of the djs in the country using Serato, including local cats like Apollo, Shortkut, etc... noone disputes THEIR skills, right?

point is, its ignorant to say that using vinyl is better than using Serato, except on the sound quality issue (but then, if ur gonna compress the entire mix anyways, whats the point?)

I think the point he was making is that the DJ MIXED it on turntables with vinyl as opposed to using a program like Acid or Vegas (which I do but I can still fuck people up on turntables so eat a dick).

We won't turn this thread into a Serato-hater thread cause I live by that shit and I spin vinyl no matter which way u wanna cut it.....But yeah, I think he was just sayin it was done with 2 turntables and the OG vinyl

carry on...

I think nobodys sayin if you use serato or mp3s in your mix your wack, I know my fingers have stayed dusty in flea markets, garage sales and dark corners for a good 15 years now and when i see/hear a hot record and you look over and dude is really spinnin the vinyl you know he dug that up not just hit download button.
