Did anyone see this? Robinson was crying afterwards cause he did that after the astros had stolen 7 bases on him. I know you're not supposed to show up the player by pulling them out mid-inning, but he did.

7 SB's is alot period. Even the Catcher said his Dad would have pulled him out. Frank Robinson can do no wrong in my eyes, and he knew it was a tough choice and it hurt him, but they won the game.

it's still an unwritten rule not to showup the players - but like you said, 7SB's is a lot and left robinson in a tough situation.
Just curious, but what do you mean, "show up the players?" And what exactly happened? I'm lost...

You don't take the player (besides pitchers - like pulling a pitcher out mid-count) out mid-inning. Its an embarrassment to be taken out the game, it "shows" up the player because its a spectacle for them to have the game stopped and him replaced.

I think it'd be different if it was another position player who made an error or two and was pulled in the middle of an inning, but your catcher is a part of the battery and is handling the ball every pitch, if he just doesn't have it for whatever reason, and both benches know it, he can't get pissed off about being taken out in that situation.
