I have no compassion for the people who were aware of the Tsunami coming that died.

I've seen enough video footage to say that the world is filled with grotesquely stupid idiots. . .

When you've been given ample advanced notice that a natural disaster is about to strike and you put on a bathing suit to kick it on the beach you are a dumbass.

When you stand near the beech with a video camera with the notion that a TSUNAMI is coming and you wait for it to get there you are an idiot.

When you've got at least an elementary school education and are aware that an equatic earthquake is catastrophic not only to land but the ocean as well and you decide to meet it like a buddy smile and drink beers waiting for it to get there you ASKED for death.

just my rantings, may they enjoy the afterlife.

From my understanding there was not suffiecient warnings, the chances of something like this happening on the Indian Ocean are so slim, they have never established an emergency warning system to communicate potential disastors amoung others in the radius to be affected, it literally just swept people away... think about how massive this Tsunami was to go from Indonesia to Somolia, its no joke...

hopefully one day you will have compassion and respect for all human life, life is life regardless...

and what about the number of people whom they assume will perish in the upcoming weeks b/c of polluted food and water supply? they must deserve it too, I mean for living in a disasotor area and stuff...

ever heard the saying 'Let them eat cake' ?

Last I saw the death toll was 76,000...I don't think I could hold it against you if you were one of 76,000 to be killed by a natural disaster...but that's just my opinion.

This shit is so sad, first it was 11,000, then 23,000 then 50,000 and now it's over 77,000. The Red Cross says it will probably be over 100,000 once all the bodies that are now buried under mud and wreckage are counted.

From what I saw they didn't have much of a warning, at all. And even if they did, with numbers that high this shit is still sad. Worse then 9/11.

Millions are now homeless. People are getting sick. I don't understand your insensitivity, this shit makes me want to cry.

What gets me the most: These were some of the poorest of the poor making a meager living. I remember the hurrican that hit florida and over 2 billion dollars being pledged to that disaster. These countries are already restricted by IMF and World Bank debts; these countries can hardly afford the massive reconstruction and relief efforts needed.

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. There actually is not a huge wave that hit, but a bunch of good sized waves that triggered the water to rappidly rise? When I think of Tsunami I think of gigantic waves.

My mom's ex huz. told me once that tidal waves are not neccesarily big, but it is how they are triggered that details the word. I always thought he was full of shit.

It's sad to hear them all laughing and giggling while watching these waves come in. I really feel bad for these people.

I love when people hide behind the cover of the internet. It's easy to say things like you wish I was one of the many killed when you can't say it to my face. Just an observation.

If there wasn't a sufficient warning how is it that every video I've seen the people KNEW the relative time it was to arrive????

Why did I keep hearing. . . OH OH OH there it is! followed by the panicked OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT!

Please. L macaframa go choke on your sympathy.

Keep in mind I'm only referring to the ones who KNEW. not the innocent.

Thin skin, and people who read into things without reading EXACTLY what was said.

The inept wish to lash out and add conjecture to things that weren't said completely ignoring what was said.

You'd think after 6+ years the siccness would have more savvy readers.

XIANEX,
HOW ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT KNEW BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE RESOURCES OR FUNDS TO RELOCATE?
That's a good point, it ain't easy getting a plane ticket and moving from one country to another leaving behind you're house, money, personal belongings ect, in just a few days. Then there's the folks who DON'T got the skrill to do that.

I have no compassion for the ones that KNEW. you muthafuckas is some witch hunters for real.

My prayers only goes out to and for the children who died and the orphans.

I will not accept that te adults couldn't GET AWAY FROM THE BEACH i.e. move ya ASS not your shit about 50 miles away from the coastline. That's like people here in oklahoma who chase tornados and shit. or people who live in KNOWN flood and hurricane areas.

An adult that can get a clue and doesn't is ridiculous. My heart only goes out to the children. They have no power and they suffered at the hands of they who were supposed to protect them.

until someone gives me some NON CONTROLLED media that says they weren't sufficiently warned I'm only gonna believe the video footage that I've seen. It's easy to say the warning came to late when people are dead. but if nobody died they would have said warning came just in the nick of time. its all about ratings and money.

Speaking of the IMF and the world bank. . . . Those countries will only lose governmental power. the "people" in the world won't let the survivors suffer for long unless the gov'ts of those nations become assholes.

both organizations PIMP country's who can't pay their bills. but they IMF is gonna basically run the country . . . if those gov'ts don't let them they are shit outta luck for the big picture

Irony . . . . how nature contributes to globalization sometimes.

XianeX, I really don't think anyone knew just how big this tsunami was going to be - if they did do you really think they would of just stood around like that?

The video footage I've seen, which I think is probably the same one you saw is the one where the guy is saying "oh shit, oh shit, it's coming AGAIN!" Remember it came in, as a series of waves as you can tell from the video's.

I think most the people were shocked, and didn't know what the fuck to do in this situation.

And as for them having proper warning, remember the area that got hit was very poor. These countries couldn't afford the proper equipment, to even know it was coming. I read that some people in the USA were trying to contact the area to let them know, but they didn't know who to call.

http://forums.livingwithstyle.com/t90777-asia-tsunami-videos.html <-- Has more of the video's for anyone who hasn't seen it. I'm sure if they knew it was coming and going to be as big as it was they would of got the fuck out of there. 100,000 people ain't that stupid.

And as for the IMF and World Bank, well i'm sure they'll be quick to offer some loans.

I wish a tsunami would hit NEW YORK, with all the poor and working people evacuated from previous warnings and all the shit left over is flushed into the ocean- Including the IMF headquarters and every single rich capitalist pig that lives in the city.

I have a comrade MIA, likely dead who was in Sri Lanka, working for the Socialist movement over there. A number of the Socialist Party members in CWI Sri Lanka are dead as well. There weren’t any warnings from my understanding. They were some, late warnings, but nothing was predicted at this magnitude.

Does anyone actually think the $350 million is going to be anything more than a promise? How much is a LOAN, How much will they actually see?

And yet, our goverment gave over $1 BILLION to faith based groups in 2003 alone.
