Yeah it's really energetic, a lot of stomping and clapping and the pastors are really good, I guess it depends on which black church you go to. I remember when I was down in Texas visiting some family we went to one of the churches and each week that church brings in a different rapper to perform and that shit was tight. Yeah the rapper was spitting clean lyrics but the beat was hard and I was up, you see old people and young people grooving to that shit. That got me focused and at the end of the service I was like "We got to leave? DAMN!!"

But TIM C try some different Catholic churches in your area. Maybe that church wasn't for you?

I HEARD THIS ON A MOVIE ONCE...

REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A LIL KID AND CHURCH WAS KINDA INTERESTING, YOU ACTUALLY PAYED ATTENTION TO THE STORIES ABOUT GOD, AND KINDA LIKED GOING TO CHURCH...NOW IT SUCCS AND YOU CANT PHIGURE OUT WHY...

PICTURE YOUR PHAITH AS A DRINKING GLASS, AND RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS AS WATER...WHEN YOU ARE LITTLE, THE GLASS IS SMALLER, THEREPHOR IT TAKES VERY LIL TO PHILL IT...AS YOU GET OLDER THE GLASS GETS BIGGER AND THE SAME SMALL AMOUNT WILL NO LONGER PHILL IT...YOU NEED SOME KIND OPH RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE TO RESTORE YOUR PHAITH...

IM IN NEED OPH ONE BAD, CUZ IVE LOST ALL PHAITH IN THE LORD...I HAVE SEEN NO PROOPH OPH HIS EXISTENCE OTHER THAN A BOOK WRITTEN BY MAN...AND HOW COULD A LOVING GOD, LET HIS CREATION (EARTH) GO SO BAD...HE'S A MYTH, PHONY...WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT..ABA

matt 12:39<------good for sign seekers.

:H:

ps "miracles in and of themselves will not produce faith in a heart that is hardened against believing" some of you should ponder that..........

I'd definately just start reading the bible,a nd see what you think then. It's mad interesting. I'd read the 4 gospels first, then Acts in the new testament (John, Peter, Mark, Matthew). Jesus was a cool guy. Peace~

Organized religion and spirituality are two very different things. If you are excited and happy about your personal walk w/ God, that's all U need. Lot's of people who go to church are just going through the motions. I agree, Jesus was a cool dude.:classic:

Trauma, U are very correct. Yes, some people thrive in such a group. And if that brings U to a better, closer walk w/ God right on for U. :classic:

Jesus is white in many European portraits, b/c they want a God/ Christ that looks like them. I've taken a few Art History classes and this seems to be the driving theme. When Christianity is introduced into other cultures, Jesus then takes on that groups physical characteristics.

When I was a little person I thought Jesus was a spanish speaking Mexican. Then I made friends w/ an American and was told, no Jesus is not Mexican, he is American and he speaks English. lol, I got all worried, b/c I didn't know English and thought Jesus couldn't understand my prayers. I was a tard. :classic:

BUT TIM C,
IT AIN'T ABOUT BEIN' CATHOLIC. IT'S ABOUT SEEKIN' TRUTH.
YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF CERTAIN PERSONAL QUESTIONS AND gO ABOUT SEEKIN' ANSWERS. ASK ABOUT YOUR PLACE ON THIS EARTH, AND YOUR DENOMINATION PRACTICES AND HISTORY. SEEK WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE TO EVEN gO TO A CHURCH OR PLACE OF ENLIgHTENMENT. BUT TO ME gROWIN' UP, I FIgURED THAT THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDgE IS A BEAUTIFUL THANg.
