? FOR THE FATHERS!!

How many of you have kids that refused to sleep as infants? How many of you wanted to pull your god damn face off during the first 6 months-1 year?

My son does not nap during the day, and he refuses to sleep longer than 3 hours at night. He also gets pissed off if he's in the same place longer than 10 minutes. Doctor says he's extremely alert for his age and probably doesn't want to miss anything.

I think he's just pissed off 'cause he wants to talk and walk, but he can't.

Any advice? What might make a kid sleep longer?

my advice is...ride it out man. it DOES get better after a year or so, and your kid does calm down.

or

maybe he doesnt, like my kid. he was just like your kid, but now it feels like he does sleep better, and hes older so he can communicate a little better and in return, he is less stressed about that. i can also tell you get frustrated easy, so do i. my patience is about...non existent, and i feel it grew a little more now that my son is older, and like i said, can communicate better.

who knows, maybe i just got used to it all so much, i can deal more with how he is, cuz you realize how your kid acts and reacts to different things.

so my advice to you is, instead of gettin heated, try and play with your kid, distract 'em from crying. newborns are pretty straight forward: bottles, burping, diapers, affection. my kid had colic, when they have colic, man...there is no stopping their fits. theyre uncomfortable and in pain, so basically have to wait till they calm down on their own, or try a warm bath (would you want someone shoving toys and shit in your face while youre in pain?)

HAHA! I actually don't get frustrated too easily. If he's screaming, I usually just act like I'm crying and he calms down. Looks at me like I'm an idiot, but hey, it works. lol.

Naw but for real, he's a gassy little dude, hates sleeping, and I'm sure that's why he has issues during the day. When he gets nuts I turn on some Michael Jackson or take him for a walk/drive and he calms down.

If there's women around I'll take him to them, and he'll flirt.

I'm just trying to figure out how to get him to sleep longer at night....I can handle him being up all day. He goes to bed at 9, and I get home from work at 11 or so...and he wakes up around 12:30. After that, he's up every 2 hours.

nah breh if he had colick he would not stop crying and his stomach would be hard as a rock.... is he burpin cool? if so my best advice for you is uppin his formula or talk to his pediatrician and ask if hes ready to start puttin cereal in his formula to thicken it up.

Doc didn't say he's colicky, just gassy. Dude's farts sound like a grown man...lol.

He sleeps in his crib between 9 and 12:30, but after that he's not havin' it, so he sleeps on his mom's chest usually from about 2 AM on...

He's on breast milk, but the doc gave us the go ahead to try rice cereal. So far, he hates that shit and gets pissed when we put it in his mouth. I guess they say to give babies 10 days to get used to the taste...so we'll see.

Be careful with the cereal because if you use to much he can get constipated then youll have a whole nother problem. my daughter is 2 and a half and still doesnt nap regularley and wakes up atleast once a night. Doctors told us the same thing child s mind is active and they dont want to miss anything. We tried it all sleepytime tea eating before bed a new bed. Nothing has worked consistentley. Try your best to establish a schedule evn if he doesnt want to nap put him down at the same times every day. Thats what has worked best for us or atleast given my daughter some type of consistent sleep pattern. Good luck its rough.
