it's nice, first thing that bothered me tho, is the website automatically resized my browser window, and when it did, it moved it almost off the screen entirely.
other than that, its nice, it is a lot of text
i would think of resizing the about me text so that it fits without having to scroll down (or just put the bare minimum of info and if someone wants to read more, they can click the 'read more' link and read every bit of info they wanna read (you dont wanna hit people with a lot of reading unless they wanna do it them selves, so always give the minimum and let the customer choose to read more) also, the text might not be a whole lot, but in the small content box and big font size, it makes it seem like more than it really is
small thing, instead of having the 'coming soon' previews in the photo gallery, just leave it empty space, dont know why, it just looks better in my opinion
on the testimonials, it would be nice to see each testimonial fit in the content box and not have to scroll down like a traditional browser window. if when u clicked the down arrow it scrolled to the next testimonial automatically, instead of slowly scrolling thru all the text (i hope im making sense on this)

The browser resizing needs to be fixed (delete the JavaScript that courses it).
I am disappointed the gallery images open up in a new window. You should make some stylish flash window popup within the flash site and have flowers grow outside of the pop up box ?

Basically if i want to send a friend to elizabeth's gallery then they will have to go to the homepage first. If you learn how to deep link it will allow the user to bypass the homepage. You can change the path too so it looks more user friendly it doesn't have to look like the link above

kayne - that lightbox2 uses a JavaScript framework called Prototype. Using that plugin would improve its usability but it still goes against the whole flash site. The popup atm is alien to me and can be easily created inside the flash file. If you (Emma) want the user to beable to download the image then add a download button or something . .
If you make the popup inside flash you will improve the usability (know annoying new window pop up!). You can also exaggerate the animation of the popup like have flowers and shit grow around the border which I think would look cool! Plus if you add a download image button it encourages the user to actually download the image otherwise I cannot see why you want to use a new window to display the image other than you are lazy?

It is possible to use lightbox with flash but it convolutes the sites structure.

if there is a way to do something simple in flash then that is the way to do it i quess.. then it should be something that opens up the pic and that you can go the next and prev pics from there..
but that gallery that you posted whats the point of having that? its not that coo, not very user friendly and slow loading.. flash is often over done thats why im not a big fan of it..

Emma - I assume you have to update the site if the client wants changes to be done. There is a cool XML Flash gallery tutorial somewhere which will allow the client to upload images easily.
I was just showing an extreme example. It wasn't the best to use coz of loading time and design wise but check these out:

thanks for the feedback. what kind of computer are you using, and what browser? and what size is your monitor? (that's weird about it moving off screen, I didn't have that problem on any of the computers i tested it on).

okay, first of all, there's no need to be an asshole. (calling me lazy etc).
honestly the only time i've ever seen you post in the art forum is to give negative feedback on everybody's websites, yet i have never never seen you post any of your own work to show off your own "amazing skills".
but anyway, in response to your comments:
-I like the gallery as is, & so does elizabeth. i honestly don't like photo galleries with images that pop up within the same window and overlap everything; they kind of annoy me and i honestly don't think keeping an image it inside flash necessarily improves the usability at all. it's just as much work to click a picture to make it go back to the thumbnails as it is to click the x in the corner or hit command w to close a popup window, but anyway. i also don't think the kind of galleries you used as examples are always as intuitive, especially for older/less computer savvy people. .

I can't be posting my companys work on here. I could post my freelance work but I am too busy with other projects to knuckle down with my own. When the time is right I will make a thread for yall to merk.
Anyways I just found a site that has a neat trick you might want to use sometime.. When this site loads change the browser window to a small size and it will then somehow recognize you are below the minimal view port size and it tells you to increase!
