FIRST TRY AT PHOTO RETOUCHING

WE JUST GOT BACK FROM OUR FAMILY VACATION AT TAHOE...AND HERE A PICTURE THEY TOOK OF US WHEN WE WENT RAFTING.....AND THIS IS THE FIRST PHOTO I HAVE REALLY TRIED TO RETOUCH IN PHOTOSHOP

Looks like you just duplicated the layer and set it to overlay, did you do anything else?

I DID A BLACK AND WHITE FILTER. AND SHADOW AND HIGHLIGHT

/\ dont give up at all. try using some 3rd party filters. dodge and burn tools and stuff to mix it up.

I messed with it for a few minutes.

I just chaned the tint and a little color.

added a little sharpness on a separate layer.

It looks a little different.

I would say use more gradient maps, photo filters, curves, sharpness, blur, etc.

the 1st thing u need to do is learn how 2 use the LEVELS adjustment layer,
everything else people are tellin u in this thread is secondary.....
