I see this alot, mostly when some1 recieves a award or something, tha first thing they say is "first off i would like to thank god" why would they say that when they should be thanking themselves on acheving what they accomplish, what yall think should they thank god or thank themselves?and why would they thank god for something they did all on there own, i was jus wondering what u all thought about this.

half of the people who say that probably dont even mean it. can you imagine what a famous actor/musician or whatever would be treated like had they said they were atheist? they would get rejected by the masses. and the groove of religion is so old that it just seems like the "right" thing to do. if someone doesnt thank god half of the world will think of them as an ungrateful devil worshiping bastard, so whether they mean it or not, it usually is said first. seems everyone is scared of the unknown...so they turn to religion which they think they've figured out...yet who do the christians think they are to say that buddhists are wrong? its the biggest brainwash of the the earths history, a very good and complex one. i am an atheist and thats my belief.
