Robocop has been in and out of development hell and changed hands quite a few times. I wouldn't expect much else from it than to capitalize off of nostalgia fans.

Went to see "our idiot brother" with my wife. This trailer came on and I boo'd loudly. She was embarrassed, but everyone in the theater seemed to agree with me.

so as I joke I was going to say they should remake The Bodyguard.

I googled it just in case Hollywood was that retarded and yep, they are.

Warner Bros. Plans The Bodyguard Remake

Warner Bros. is developing a remake of its 1992 film, The Bodyguard, Deadline reports.

Starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, the original film arrived from director Mick Jackson (who recently won an Emmy for directing the "Temple Grandin" television miniseries). Costner played a former Secret Service agent assigned to protect a famous musician (Houston) from a stalker. Over the course of the film, the two develop a romantic connection.

Famous for showcasing Houston's music (including the hit "I Will Always Love You"), the aim for the new version is said to again cast a real-life singer in the role, though no official casting decisions have, as of yet, been announced.

Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer have been hired to adapt the screenplay. Their spec script, Family Getaway, was picked up by Warner Bros. last year after making the 2010 Black List.
