ok besides the obvious jump roping and stamina and all that shit, what are some of some other tactics to get you ready to go the distance

like some wrist strenghtening exercises to land those heavier blows, or something for your knuckles where you wont fuck up your hand as much

i heard the stronger your neck is the harder it is for you to get knocked out

anybody know some shit

what i did and still do when i was taking JKD, we jump roped for 30 minutes with 1 minute burts of full speed. Then we would do situps and a partner would hit you on the stomach with target mits, after that we would do knuckle push ups, and after that we would squat for around 5 minutes. That shit is hard. After that we would do punching combinations for 10 minutes, kicks for 10 minutes, then takedowns for another 10 minutes. 5 minute break, then we would get back on the mat, and put ourself in street-like situations.. multiple opponents, weapons defense, trapping/deflecting punches.

What i do sometimes is i grab a 10 pound dumbell for each hand and ill start doing punch combinations with them until i cant hold them up anymore. This helps me during sparring, gives me more power and speed. Or ill just use some heavy gloves like 16 ounces instead of the 4 ounce ones. And back when i used to take kung-fu, taekwon do, and judo.. we would punch bags full of rocks, normally your knuckles would bleed everytime.. after a while the nerves around your hands would die and you wouldnt feel anything. Needless to say i said fuck that shit and stopped doing it.

the only way to not fuck up your hand is proper technique. The whole neck thing isnt true, no matter who you are.. you can get knocked out. There is something called the center-line theory which bruce lee said there is a center line down the middle of your body, these points when hit, will devistate and destruct your opponent. When boxers land punches on someones chin, why do you think they go down? thats one of the points in the center-line. When you stand orthodox you also have the stance to where youre protecting that center-line.

Get a coach. Fighting is all about preparation and training.

Find a gym with a speed bag. Hit that shit for 30-45 minutes everytime you go to the gym. As you get better, throw in combos and different sequences. It will develope your shoulders, quickness, arm control.
