That was tight. Great game by the way.

I was very impressed with Atlanta’s Defense. They did everything right- they rushed McNabb, forced a couple fumbles, interception, and De’Angelo Hall stepped up big covering Owens. Even though Owens had about 115 yards receiving, he never had a big play- he was never able to break out like he usually does 1 or 2 times a game.

If Atlanta plays like that all year, they will be the team to beat.

Good analysis mayne.... Atlanta beat the best team in the NFC but now we're starting to see Philly's weaknesses.... They can't run the ball. Westbrook causes match up problems catching the ball out of the backfield but he's not really a threat running the ball... So Atlanta was able to blitz McNabb because they knew McNabb was going to be throwing and they didn't have to honor the run.

And it looks like Philly has a tough time stopping the run. Maybe Trotter's ejection had something to do with it. But yeah De"Angelo Hall looked pretty good covering T.O...... T.O. didn't have the big plays that he's used to having so the credit goes to Atlanta. And I guess Philly forgot how to "contain" Vick... But anyway the Saints will get them though!

T.O. had over 100 yards receiving...I wouldn't say that's too good of a job covering him. Tackling him, yes.

I would give the credit to Atlanta's D line. They really put the pressure on McNabb and he had to rush a lot of his throws.

T.O. did have over 100 yards receiving.... He got open when Atlanta went to zone coverage. When D'Angelo Hall was on him in bump and run press coverage.... T.O. got stopped. Why do you think McNabb was getting blasted? Because D'Angelo Hall was on T.O. man to man in bump and run coverage. That allowed Atlanta to blitz because they knew T.O. was covered. T.O. scored no touchdowns. TD's are more important than yards. He could have 200 yards but if he doesn't step foot in the end zone what good is it? It wasn't just Atlanta's D-line.... Altanta was sending everybody they could because T.O. was left in one on one coverage. Ever heard of the cover 0 blitz?

^^Exactly. T.O racked up yards after 7 catches but he never had that big play, he never had anything beyond 25 yards, which he did nearly every game last year and his streak of TD catches in a game was stopped. You shut down that big 30+yrd play and don’t allow T.O in the endzone and you did a job well done.

I'm not taking anything away from Hall, but it's easy to look good when you have a good pass rush. I consistently saw McNabb being forced to throw the ball early. The INT, the low balls...all due to the pass rush.

TD's are more important than yards. He could have 200 yards but if he doesn't step foot in the end zone what good is it?
Uhh...it's called moving the chains. Granted...TD's are important, but so is keeping drives alive. T.O. did that. And they could have won the game if their kicker made his field goals.

And that was all Hall?

Gimpypimp you have good points. McNabb was hurried on a lot of throws but then you also have to give credit to the coverage too. I remember a play when McNabb looked to throw to T.O. but Hall jumped the slant route and McNabb had to look elsewhere causing him to get hit and then he fumbled. If Hall doesn't jam/cover him or jump the route McNabb completes the pass. Atlanta was able to blitz and bring the heat because they had someone that was covering T.O. man to man with no help.
