Gamespot gets an alternate costume for Serah
Amazon gets Omega Boss Battle (which Omega joins you team afterwords)
Best Buy gets a Hardcover version of the Novella book that came with FFXIII International.

Japan has DLC for special weapons for both Serah & Noel.

Not sure if it would be better to buy from Amazon and use EBAY for the gamestop DLC or vice versa.

I'm only concerned with VERSUS at this point and from what I understand they are in full production now. I don't really care about this, but I'll pick it up when it is $19.99 new. I don't want another game with shitty voice acting that forces me to go in the same goddamn direction every single time--straight.

13 was a game where the story was shitty but the combat was way above average. It wasn't perfect, I beat the game without making my weapons stronger (mixing the items and all that toher shit) so it was far from perfect.

I loved 13 and I like that it cut out all the BS. I much prefer the 1 stop save point shop vs running around some stupid town looking for shit for hours on end.

You're missing the point, the making your weapons stronger isn't so much for the main game as it is for the post game.

You can get the chinese ps3 version for JP vocals with english txt.

Then you don't like the gameplay of most JRPG's. Moreover, this games economy is broken and you end up with less money but a lot of useless items and shit you don't really need.

No, you're missing the point. The game holds your hand, and if it's mostly for post game stuff, they should have introduced it post game.

When it drops down to $19.99 I will. Until then, I'm not going to hop on this. $65 for another FF13 game where you go straight, have minimal to no sidequests, etc is robbery. Instead of coming with this shit they need to do what fans have been asking for. Give us VERSUS and give us a remake or reboot of FF7, the most successful FF game in history. Don't want to do that? Well, continue to make crap like 14 and highly questionable games like 13/13-2.

It's kind of a shame, I can tell from your responses that you didn't get into it but got very close. All that useless stuff is used for upgrading your weapon or selling for money.

...and to be fair, when I say post game it's possible to do most of the stuff prior to actually beating the game.

I think 9 & 6 are pretty much the best of the main series and with that being said, 13 is right up there with those. It does have a flaw or two though, I personally hated the parts where I was forced to play as Sazh/Vanille.

9 and 6? 7 has been the most successful and has kept the FF name alive. 7 is what fans are asking for. And see, when you do all the upgrading and shit with the weapons and trinkets before the end of the game, you become more powerful and the enemies become easy to beat. I have all my characters pretty much maxed out (with the crystarium trees) and the only stuff I don't have is useless shit like skill sets and trees they would never use (Like HOPE becoming a commando or something.)

Anyway, a new tales game is supposed to be released soon, and I might pick Disgaea 4 up, so this game will have to wait until it's $19.99

Isn't that the point of an rpg is to steadily increase your weaponry and your skill set to fight harder enemies and bosses?
Some of them, and the fights at the end (certain enemies) are difficult. The point, is the shit isn't alanced because its introduced earlier in the game where you don't need it and, by the time you do need it, you have to spend more hours grinding and finding the right combinations and materials to upgrade your weapons.

You don't NEED it, but it makes things a lot better if you do utilize it.

I know not every one likes every thing, for instance you seem to like 7 where I think 7 is one of the worst in the series, (10 is the worst IMO).

You can do 99% of the upgrading without having to find any thing, in fact most of the stuffed used for upgrading can simply be bought in the save shop. Besides pretty much every RPG (a la materia in FF7) requires some grinding if you want to max out your stuff.

Tales of Xillia looks pretty awesome, so does Disgaea 4. I've been debating on buying a PS3 ...but the NIS games are pretty much the only games I would want it for. :/
